Our motto

Khanti · Sacca · Adhiṭṭhāna — patience, truth, determination. Khanti, sacca and adhiṭṭhāna are three of the ten pāramī, the qualities cultivated on the Buddhist path: patient endurance, truthfulness, and the firm resolve to see one's practice through.

What we do

The fellowship gathers for a weekly puja every Sunday at 10.30 am at the Buddha Dhamma Centre — chanting, offerings and a period of quiet reflection. Through the year BDFA invites visiting teachers for Dhamma talks, meditation sessions and retreats, and makes Buddhist literature and teachings available to members and the public. The association also works alongside other Buddhist and religious societies and supports charitable and welfare bodies for the well-being of the community.

The centre

Buddha Dhamma Centre, No. 301, Lorong Keranji 4F4, Tabuan Desa, 93350 Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. The centre is home to the weekly puja and to the fellowship's talks and retreats. If you would like to visit, get in touch or come along to the weekly puja.

Our aims

The fellowship works towards these aims:

1. To study, practise and share the teachings of the Buddha, with particular reference to the Theravada tradition.
2. To organise Dhamma talks, lectures and seminars.
3. To produce and distribute Buddhist literature and teachings to members and the public.
4. To work with, and build good relationships with, other registered Buddhist societies and organisations.
5. To foster understanding and good relations with other registered religious organisations.
6. To support charitable and welfare organisations working for the well-being of the community.
